A Fall Journey into the Mountains
Today was a journey to the forest with my soulmate. Our journeys allow us to escape the matrix for a short while and reconnect ourselves with nature and the universe.
It was a beautiful weather day. The early morning rain did not discourage our quest. The temperature was perfect for a hike and eventually the sun would make an appearance.
We set out eagerly into the early morning and were thankful that there were not many people out on the gravel access road that led to the trail head.
We passed by the roadside camping area and noticed the same tents set up with their occupants inside still sleeping in the early morning hours. With it being the same tents we normally see each time we go on this journey, we contemplated whether the occupants were homeless except for their tents and necessities they had with them to survive in the outdoors. Were they like us and acted upon their desire to escape the matrix and live with nature off the grid?
We noticed as we drove to the trailhead that there was not too much change in the color of the leaves. Except for a squirrel and a little chipmunk who crossed the road in front of us, we did not encounter any traffic and could thoroughly take in the beauty we could see around us.
We arrived at the trailhead and immediately realized we had the trail and the mountain to ourselves to share with nature. We parked and started into the forest embarking on our 8 mile round-trip hike to the mountain vista and back.
As we walked along the trail we noticed that the early morning rain was causing all of the flora and fungi to stand out in a way we have never seen before. We took in the sites of the falling leaves as the birds chirped good morning overhead. The majestic trees stood tall before us, standing proudly guarding the forest floor. Those trees that had fallen and were laying in the forest were covered with various types of fungi, popping in color and dripping with the morning dew.
About a mile in we came to the waterfall. We carefully journeyed down the wet and slick embankment to be able to reach the stream and behold the beauty of fall at the waterfall. The morning rain had caused the stream to run loud and heavy and the waterfall was no different. The beautiful roar of the water rushing over the rocks and moving into the stream below was a relaxing noise to our ears.
After a few minutes of enjoying the waterfall, we continued our journey to reach the vista. 3 miles later we arrived at the top. It was cooler at the top but still a nice temperature to enjoy the day. The view did not disappoint and was as amazing as ever. The beauty of the mountains just has an effect on our outlook that I can't describe.
We spent some time on the rock relaxing and enjoying nature. The resident Rattlesnake did not make an appearance, but we did keep an eye out on its den in case it decided to sun bathe again. We did get to meet some ravens who called out to us as they soared overhead. We didn't know that it was a raven at first but then my soulmate used her bird identifier to recognize its call. It proved handy to have her by my side on the mountain.
After about an hour of enjoying the vista, we decided to start our journey back down the mountain. It was another beautiful and relaxing journey for us. It wasn't as eventful as others, but it was peaceful. And it gave us our time together and helped us to recharge and also to reconnect with nature.
One of the things the universe spoke to me about was sharing with others my spirituality, my journeys and my love of connecting with nature. The Ancestor's Fire is going to be more than a blog. It is going to be a journey. I am going to be your guide. I am going to be the spiritual journey guide and I would love to guide you through the mountains I enjoy. I look forward to getting started with spiritually guiding people while touring the forest. I am letting the universe put all the pieces in place.
Until the next journey ……..
Blessings!
