Insomnia: Why Do I Want To Stay Awake?

Insomnia- Why Do I Want To Stay Awake?

I think most people have seen the movie Groundhog Day, or at least they have heard of it. You know the one I am talking about, where the same thing happens over and over again each day.

Well what if that happened to you at night? Every single night the same thing happens over and over and over again. What if that thing was that you can't fall asleep or stay asleep? Well that is called insomnia.

According to Dictionary.com, the definition of insomnia is: the inability to obtain sufficient sleep, especially when chronic; difficulty in falling or staying asleep; sleeplessness.

One of the main reasons that people suffer with insomnia is stress and an irregular sleep schedule. If you take a look at the current state of the world and all of the demands and requirements the matrix puts on us to survive, it is no wonder the entire world population is stressed. Having to work 2 to 3 jobs to be able to afford to live does not allow you to have a regular sleep schedule.

Another reason for insomnia is mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression. Stop. Go back and read the last paragraph, and there you have the reason behind this. The other part of this is that our society lacks the desire to address mental health in our world. Mental health is viewed as one of those taboo areas, after all those people are just crazy anyway. At least that is what the system wants you to think. Until we take mental health seriously and address it, sleepless nights will continue.

The last reason, there are many others but I only wanted to focus on three, that causes insomnia in this society is physical illness, pain and medications. Stop! Go back and read the last two paragraphs. Can you see the pattern now? Everything is connected and revolves around each other. You are going to get physically ill without a proper sleep schedule. You are going to be put on medication for mental illness and more medication for not sleeping. All because of the situations this matrix puts us in.

There are many effects that insomnia can cause on a person. Here is a list of the main ones: it causes an increased risk of hypertension, diabetes, obesity, depression, heart attack and stroke. Now go look at the major illnesses in America. Do you see a correlation?

Could the structure of society that we have been trapped in be the leading cause of insomnia and thus driving all of the major illnesses in America? Just think about that for a minute .

Living with someone who battles insomnia, I can see the damage it can do to someone. Besides being exhausted and increasing your brain fog, it intensifies and increases all of the other pain and sicknesses you are fighting. If my soulmate can't sleep, she can barely get through the next day.

What can you do? First, I am not a medical doctor and I am just giving my opinion on things I have learned. I would personally stay away from prescription medications if at all possible. I have seen the mental damage that it causes as well as the other bad physical symptoms it contributes also.

I have seen having a regular routine at night in preparing for bed. Try to do things at the same time and get your body used to a schedule. Stay away from electronics before going to bed, give your eyes and brain a break. Meditate to get yourself in a calm and relaxed state. There are many other resources out there that can direct you to good sleeping results.

New studies show that in Ancient Civilizations, or hunting and gathering people, the average amount of sleep was the same as it is today. The study showed that the sleep pattern was more in line with the temperature than anything else. The tribes would try to go to sleep when the temperature falls and would sleep through the coldest part of the night.

There is not much information on how Ancient civilizations treated insomnia. Ancient Egyptians would use opium to help those who could not sleep. Incidentally, this was also used in 19th century America as a treatment method.

But, ultimately, the biggest thing that can be done to help fix insomnia is to change the society we live in. Our physical conditions will not get any better as long as we continue to be driven to work countless hours to survive. The root of all evil, money, will continue to give us sleepless nights.

That leads me to my next point.

While we need to get rid of our physical insomnia, we need to increase our SPIRITUAL insomnia.

That is right, I am promoting insomnia for our spiritual beings. It is only when we become awakened to the illusion and programming we have been put under, that we can make the changes necessary in our lives to treat the physical insomnia.

The more awakened we become, the longer we stay awake, the more we move to a higher consciousness.

It is at this higher consciousness that we are able to escape the matrix we are being forced to live in.

And when enough people take on the spiritual insomnia, then together we can defeat and eliminate the Matrix creating a better universe for all.

Insomnia in the physical sense is a horrible thing to go through life having to fight. This matrix isn't worth that.

Let's go on a spiritual journey to awaken to a higher consciousness and eliminate the physical insomnia we all struggle with.

Meet me at the fire and let's journey together.

Blessings.
