The Elementals
Encountering the paranormal will leave many people wondering what they may have experienced. There are many different situations and entities that you may encounter. Today I want to look at one of the types of entities you may come across if you encounter the paranormal. The Elementals are the topic for today.
Elementals can be described as spirits of nature connected to the elements: Earth, Air, Fire and Water. These beings have the power of their specific element and can be found in stories and folklore throughout the ages.
Most encounters with elementals occur in mountainous, desert, or forest settings. It is unusual to encounter elementals in a city setting unless they have been called by individuals doing rituals.
Earth Elementals are often seen as gnomes. Rocks, flowers, trees and minerals are under their control. Many traditions say they keep watch over treasure that has been hidden. You will most likely encounter them in caves and forests. Sprite and Elves are other names you may know them by. They are often mischievous or gruff voices.
Water Elementals are known as undines, or terms more familiar such as water sprites and mermaids. They have the power of bodies of water including fountains and can be associated with rain, mist and fog. They love beautiful things, are very emotional and like people. They are known for bringing prosperity, but if you anger them, they will bring illness.
Fire Elementals are also known as salamanders. Their power is over flame and smoke and do not communicate with humans directly. They will show up as fireballs or little balls of light. If you have seen a glowing orb over a body of water, then you may have seen a fire elemental. Some ancient texts describe them as being lizard-like.
Air Elementals are referred to as sylphs. Their power is over clouds, snow, and winds. They can also have power over gasses. You will often find them on mountaintops. They can be associated with genius and inspiration. They will throw and break objects and cause fighting among humans.
There are several things that you can do to try to work with elementals. Be sure to seek permission before taking anything from nature or cutting down trees. Give offerings when you do take something with permission.
Try to never make fun of an elemental and do your best to keep any contact positive and respectful. Apologize when necessary and request a peaceful working partnership.
If you do not want them around your home you can try to hang low wind chimes or put up horseshoes around your dwelling.
There are many different types of encounters when dealing with the paranormal. It is important that if you do not have experience dealing with paranormal entities, you do your research and seek out help from those with experience.
The paranormal has a lot of unanswered questions and mysteries, and needs to be explored safely in the correct manner. Elementals can be tricky and you need to know what you are doing before you work with them.
